You will notice that all of our players are learning to shoot and dribble with their left and right hand. This is something we take great pride in with our program. We want all of our players, regardless of position, to do both. We also want them to use proper shooting form and constantly work with them during camp to improve their technique.

Defensive Obstacle Course
Our players put together a number of footwork drills for the defensive obstacle course. We timed each camper to find out who had the fastest time. We also had a team relay race at the end with a mixed group of Rising Stars. This is always a fun way to teach the players some of the drills and skills they need to become a good defensive player.
The Celtic Drill is a shooting drill we do in practice often. It requires players to make a number of shots from different spots on the court in a specific time limit. To make this an even better experience for the Rising Stars we let them shoot against one of our current or former players if they qualified for the finals. They were able to shoot from a closer location on the court, while our players had to shoot 3-pointers. All 3 winners did a great job and had fun in the process. The image is one of our current players, Cate Blatchford demonstrating the drills for everyone at the camp.

Hard work beat talent, if talent fails to work hard.
