Day 7 11/17/13
Before I talk about this week I have to thank my brother Rich for all his help with fall ball camp. He was a huge part of the success and we are fortunate to have him working with us. I also have to thank Lisa Fibbe, Kevin Blatchford, and youth basketball for their continued support of our Rising Stars program and the basketball team. Special thanks to our new JV Coach Brittney Hawkins for help at our camp. I also can't forget to thank our players that helped out each week and truly make this camp a success. The younger players look up to them as role models. The current players have done a great job setting a positive example for the youth basketball players each week. I have to thank my wife Amy for her continued support as I spend many hours hours coaching basketball, football, and coaching at Rising Stars Camp. Finally, I would like to thank all the campers who participate in our camps. We feel fortunate to have a strong connection with the youth basketball program in Hamilton-Wenham. We look forward to watching each of you grow as players until one day you become a member of our high school baskeball program.
We invited parents to watch our final day of camp and gave out awards at the end. It was a great final day of camp. Before we discuss the end of camp awards you'll have an opportunity to scroll down and watch our final day of skills.
This week the players worked on advanced drills, finished 3 on 3 and individual competitions, and had a chance to compete in one last team competition. It was amazing to see the drills the players were working on this week and how far they came from week one. Below you will see some videos and a description of the winner of the various competitions.
The first few videos are the players learning to jump stop. They have made great strides since the first week and are now learning to avoid defenders and finish around the basket.
